Ethan's Critical Reflection

Module learning: To a large extent, I believed that I have met the goals I set for myself at the start of the course. I hope that I have improved in both my speaking and writing through this course and gained more confidence to speak in front of others compared to the start of the course. Also, I believe that my improvement in both public speaking and report writing will be helpful to my improvement in the future. These are essential skills that I will be using throughout the entirety of my career as an engineer as we will be giving speeches, writing emails and reports on the agenda of our job on a daily basis. Reaction to short essay: Critical Thinking - The Soul of Communication

  From what I understand from the article, I foresee that effective communication and critical thinking is important in our role as a leader in the workplace because it attributes to being good leader. Having bad communication shows that leader in question has a poor employee engagement and attrition. Although many companies employ trainings in communication, they fail to touch on the core aspect of it because they only cover the explicit parts of the process. I agree with the author that an effective communicator must have a clear thought process that provides an exchange of information, thoughts and emotions between 2 parties and critical thinking that provides the meaning to the convocation with clear thought.
