Reaction to short essay: Critical Thinking - The Soul of Communication
From what I understand from the article, I foresee that effective
communication and critical thinking is important in our role as a leader in the
workplace because it attributes to being good leader.
Having bad communication shows that leader in question has a
poor employee engagement and attrition. Although many companies employ
trainings in communication, they fail to touch on the core aspect of it because
they only cover the explicit parts of the process.
I agree with the author that an effective communicator must
have a clear thought process that provides an exchange of information, thoughts
and emotions between 2 parties and critical thinking that provides the meaning
to the convocation with clear thought. Therefore, communication between two
parties tend to begin with a thought, emotion or feeling which the mind builds upon
and allows us to build our thoughts with a critical thinking process.
In conclusion, I believe that as we pursue careers in
leadership position, we are always trying to develop skills that allow us to
think rationally and have sound reasoning in every coherent argument. If
leaders are able to think critically and speak effectively, I believe it would
allow us to eliminate ambiguity in our convocations.
